Greek Connexion

The theme for the latest social event was “My Favourite Greek Holiday Destination”, and the group were asked to come along and tell people about their favorite holiday destination within Greece.

After sampling some Greek food made by members of the group, Mike started off the presentations by showing some photos from Pelion (Πήλιο), a peninsular of the mainland opposite the Sporades islands of Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos.

Margaret spoke about the Mani (Μάνη) Peninsular in the Peloponnese, and the geography of the Outer/Exo Mani region compared to the Inner/Mesa Mani region.

Finally, David rounded off a highly enjoyable evening with a talk about the Mani Peninsular, where he owns a house, and how he produces olive oil from his own trees.

We hope to arrange another social (possibly a BBQ) in August – details will be posted to this website when they are available.
